Pantasy Kerosene Lamp 85056 is now available on the official Pantasy store, and this one fits neatly into the part of Pantasy’s range I keep coming back to: retro object builds that try to do more than just sit there looking old.
I have said before that I am not automatically sold on brick-built objects for the sake of it. If you want a radio, camera or lamp, the obvious question is always: why not just buy the real thing? The good Pantasy object sets answer that with finish, movement, lighting or some extra display trick. This Kerosene Lamp seems to be aiming for exactly that.
The set is priced at $61.99, with the Global option available at the time of writing. The US and EU options are listed, but not available right now.

Pantasy Kerosene Lamp 85056 Has 378 Pieces
The Kerosene Lamp is a 378-piece build with Type-C power, dual lighting modes and an antique copper-inspired finish. On paper, that is a much better starting point than a simple static lantern.
What makes it promising is the combination of the warm brown frame, translucent glass chimney, crossed support rods and the little flame module in the centre. The silhouette reads clearly as a kerosene lamp, but the lighting is what gives it a reason to be a brick-built display piece rather than just a shelf ornament.

A Proper Vintage Lamp Shape
The design includes the main details you would expect from an old kerosene lamp: a carry handle, air vents, glass chimney, wick and wick adjustment knob. Those are not just decorative labels. They help the model avoid that vague “brown lantern thing” problem that object builds can run into.
The curved side frame and central cage are doing a lot of the visual work. It looks like something that belongs beside Pantasy’s Radio, Twin Lens Reflex Camera and Cassette Player rather than a random one-off novelty build.

Dual Lighting Modes and Type-C Power
The light module has two active modes: steady light and flicker mode. Press once for steady light, press again for flicker, and press a third time to switch it off. It is powered by Type-C, which is exactly what I want to see on a display object like this.
Battery boxes hidden inside display sets are never the glamorous part of the hobby. Type-C power is cleaner, easier to live with, and much better suited to something that is meant to sit on a desk or shelf as ambient lighting.

Copper Finish and Printed Details
Pantasy is going for an antique copper look here, with a layered spray-painted finish and pad-printed details. That sort of finish matters on retro objects. A plain brown lamp could look flat very quickly, but the warmer metallic tone gives the model more of that timeworn display feel.
I would still want to see real builder photos before judging the finish too strongly. Promotional lighting can make almost anything look cosy. Even so, the direction is right: for a set like this, the surface treatment is not a bonus feature, it is part of the whole illusion.

This feels like the same design philosophy that made the Pantasy Radio and Pantasy Twin Lens Reflex Camera more interesting than simple brick replicas. The exterior shape needs to be convincing, but the small functional touches are what make the idea worth building.
