I want to start with a huge thank you to one of our readers, Ivan, for sending me a quick email to point this one out! Pantasy has officially added another piece to their ever-growing Retro Collection, and this time they are going back to the industrial era with a classic Pantasy Coffee Grinder.
When I first heard the name, I have to admit I was a bit confused as to what this would actually look like. Even though I am getting on a bit in age, this style of industrial machinery was well before my time.

Industrial Elegance and Mechanical Gears
Now that the official photos are live, I can see exactly what they were going for. This set is a proper “Old World” display piece. At 446 pieces, it stands about 28cm tall and captures that heavy iron, Victorian-era look perfectly.
As with most Pantasy sets lately, they haven’t settled for a static model. The set features an articulated mechanical structure that simulates the actual grinding process. When you turn the crank handle, the large flywheel and internal gears rotate, stirring the “coffee beans” in the hopper. It is a very clever bit of engineering that stays true to the brand’s focus on mechanical transmission.

A Hidden World Inside
One thing Pantasy does better than almost anyone is the “hidden scene” feature. Like their Hand Crank Sewing Machine, this grinder features a grounds drawer that slides out to reveal a Mini Coffee World. Inside, there are tiny coffee brewer tools and delicate desserts. It is a charming touch, though it is worth noting that there is no minifigure included in this set.

The Nostalgia Factor
I will be honest with you: this one is not quite my cup of tea. I am not the biggest fan of retro object sets unless they spark a bit of nostalgia.
Take the Pantasy Walkman, for example. That set brought back so many memories of my youth that it makes me smile every time I see it on the shelf. The same goes for the old video game machines or the 90s PC. Anything that can trigger a good memory is always an instant win in my book.
Because this coffee grinder is based on a 19th-century design, I just don’t have that personal connection to it. However, if you are a fan of industrial history or “Steampunk” aesthetics, this will likely be right up your alley.
