It looks like the Lumibricks frontier is expanding once again. I have just spotted a new listing on Amazon UK for the Lumibricks Wild West Ranch Duel (14017). While the Old West theme has recently given us some massive flagship buildings, this set looks to be a more compact, story-driven scene that focuses on the grit and drama of ranch life.

Two Stories in One Box
What makes this set particularly interesting is the “dual scene” diorama design. Lumibricks has split the baseplate into two distinct zones. On one side, you have a peaceful ranch scene with a hay barn and a water well. On the other, the terrain turns dusty and barren for a classic high-noon showdown.
It is a great way to handle a build because it serves both as a peaceful scenery piece and a dynamic action scene. It will be interesting to see how this works.
Action Features and Easter Eggs
Lumibricks is leaning into “play features” more with this set. There is a hidden trigger mechanism built into the floor that allows the cowboy to “dodge” on command during the duel.
There is also a very cool detail in the official description: a mini ranch-duel model hidden somewhere in the build as an Easter egg. I love it when designers include a “micro” version of the set within the set itself. It shows a real level of passion for the theme.

While this is on the smaller side compared to their recent releases, the value seems to be in the storytelling. You get a corral, a stable, a hay barn, and a functional well, all illuminated by five warm orange LED spots.
For me, the Old West is quickly becoming one of the most consistent themes in the Lumibricks catalogue. Every time I think my western town is finished, they release a “connector” set like this that adds just a bit more life to the outskirts of the city. I will be adding this to my buy list the moment it officially drops.
