Pantasy Prague Astronomical Clock (85045) – Has a Lot More Going On Than I Expected

As we teased earlier this month, the wait for one of the most sophisticated architecture builds of 2026 is over. The Pantasy Prague Astronomical Clock (85045) has officially launched, and it is far more ambitious than we first realised.

More Than Just a Façade

While most “landmark” sets focus purely on the exterior, Pantasy has delivered a full three-tier modular experience. The back of the clock tower opens to reveal a vertically integrated story of science and history:

  • GF: Astronomical Research Studio – A detailed ground floor for data collection.
  • 1F: Mechanical Clockwork Level – The “brain” of the build, featuring the gear systems that drive the dials.
  • 2F: Astronomical Observatory – Equipped with a brick-built telescope for celestial viewing.

Standout Features

  • Celestial Dome: The build is topped with a transparent, illuminated celestial dome that acts as the centrepiece of the upper floor.
  • Functional Dials: Trace the paths of the stars with moving Astronomical and Zodiac dials driven by an internal clockwork mechanism.
  • No Stickers: In typical Pantasy fashion, the set appears heavily reliant on high-quality printed elements, essential for the complex Zodiac calendar details.
  • Warm Illumination: The 13 included LEDs highlight the Gothic spires and the internal levels, making it a standout display piece for any shelf.

The Final “News” Verdict

At $139.99 for nearly 2,400 pieces, Pantasy is offering a level of mechanical detail and “shelf presence” that is hard to find elsewhere. When you consider the sheer volume of gold-lacquered elements and the fully integrated 13-LED lighting system, this represents fantastic value for a set of this scale. Between the functional clockwork gears and the impressive 42cm height, this is a strong showing for fans looking for a sophisticated, historical challenge.

Where to buy

Pantasy sell their products directly through their official website, and they also have a store on Amazon.

Pantasy have recently launched a Rewards Programme on their official site. If you plan on building a collection, I recommend ordering directly from them to start racking up points for future discounts. However, if you’re looking for the fastest shipping, Amazon is often the better shout. Always check both to see who has the best current deal!
