Last month we covered an early look at the upcoming Van Gogh art set “Lumibricks Wheat Field with Cypresses” when the first images appeared online. The set has now been officially released, with full product details and photography published on the Lumibricks website.

If you want to see the original leak and early discussion, you can read that here.

Now that the set is official, we can take a clearer look at what Lumibricks has actually produced.

Lumibricks Wheat Field with Cypresses

Set Details

Set name: Wheat Field with Cypresses
Set number: 21001
Pieces: 2,632 pieces
Size: approx. 27.2 × 40 cm
Theme: LumiCanvas

The build recreates Van Gogh’s swirling sky and cypress trees using layered bricks and sculpted textures, something that should make the final display look much more dynamic than a traditional flat mosaic.

Like most Lumibricks sets, lighting is integrated into the design, which should help emphasise the brushstroke-like shapes and shadows in the artwork.

Lighting & Touch-Sensors

Lighting has always been Lumibricks’ biggest strength, so seeing them apply that idea to an art piece makes a lot of sense.

It also gives Lumibricks something slightly different compared to other brick brands that have already tackled famous artworks.

The absolute standout feature of this set is the integrated dual-mode lighting system. Van Gogh was deeply obsessed with capturing the changing light of the day, and Lumibricks has honoured that perfectly.

There is no fumbling around the back of the frame to find a switch. The set features a touch sensor built directly into the side of the build.

  • Day Mode: A single tap bathes the artwork in a warm glow, highlighting the golden wheat fields and the swirling movement of the sky.
  • Night Mode: Another tap shifts the LEDs to a cooler, subdued tone, creating a dramatic and moody silhouette of the cypress trees.

It is an incredibly smart feature that lets the artwork completely change the atmosphere of the room it is displayed in.

Pricing & Value

The set has officially launched on the Lumibricks store with a retail price of $119.99 USD / £117 for those of us in the UK / around €133.99 in Europe.

When you break that down, you are getting 2,632 pieces for just under 5 cents a piece (although, to be fair, there are lots of smaller pieces). For a fully licensed-style art set that also includes a fully integrated, dual-mode touch-sensor lighting kit, that does not sound too bad at all.

Where to Buy

You can buy Lumibricks directly from their official website or through their Amazon store.

The Official Site: It is worth knowing that they run a rewards program (similar to LEGO Insiders). You earn points on every purchase which can be swapped for money off vouchers later, so if you plan to buy multiple sets, buying direct often pays off.

Lumibricks also frequently offers new user codes and drops various discount codes on their social media channels. If you cannot find one of those to use, you can always enter my code THERIGHTBRICK at checkout to take 10% off your order. My best advice is to always go for whatever code gives you the highest discount!

Amazon: Generally offers faster delivery and stock is more consistent. They also tend to have random discounts that the official site doesn’t match.

My Recommendation: I always check both links below. If Amazon has a lower price, I grab it there for the savings and speed. If the prices are roughly the same, I buy from the official site to bank the loyalty points.
