Lumibricks Redbrick Row House (15009) – A Welcome Shift to Residential Builds

The Redbrick Row House has just gone live on Lumibricks’ official website, and it marks a pretty important shift for the Town Life series. Until now, this range has been very commercial-focused. Toy stores, shops, public buildings.

This one changes that.

Instead of another shopfront, we’re getting a proper residential house. And honestly, that’s something a lot of city builders have been crying out for. Fully built homes that look like homes, not dollhouse-style façades or half-depth buildings that only work when viewed from one angle.

From the images, the architectural style leans heavily toward a Victorian or late Georgian townhouse look. Red brick façade, tall narrow proportions, symmetrical windows, and that classic stacked vertical layout. These kinds of houses are incredibly common across the UK and large parts of Europe, especially in older city centres and terraced streets. If you’ve ever walked through London, Manchester, Liverpool, or pretty much any historic European city, you’ve seen rows of buildings that look very much like this.

That’s what makes this set interesting. It doesn’t feel exaggerated or fantasy-driven. It feels grounded and realistic, which is something LEGO themselves rarely do well with residential buildings unless you heavily modify them.

The proportions also look right. It’s tall, narrow, and deep enough to feel like a real townhouse rather than a flat façade. The window spacing and floor separation feel believable, and the overall silhouette would sit comfortably next to both LEGO modulars and alt-brick modular-style builds without screaming for attention.

Lighting is another big part of this set. With 11 lights included, the house really comes to life when powered on. Warm interior lighting through the windows adds a lot of atmosphere, especially compared to unlit residential buildings, which can often look a bit dead once placed in a city layout. This feels like the kind of building that actually contributes to the street scene rather than just filling space.

What I’m most curious about is whether this is a one-off or the start of something bigger. If Lumibricks commit to doing more residential buildings like this, terraced houses, corner homes, slightly varied façades, then this could become a very strong sub-line within Town Life. City builders need housing. Shops alone don’t make a city believable.

If they were to release a few variations of this style, different colours, slight architectural changes, maybe even mirrored builds, you could very quickly create an entire residential street without heavy MOC work. That’s something LEGO still hasn’t really nailed.

For now, this feels like a smart move. A quieter release maybe, but an important one. It’s practical, realistic, and fills a genuine gap in city layouts.

If you’re building a proper city rather than just collecting display pieces, this is the kind of set that actually makes sense to add.
