Just days after the appearance of the Surf Shop, another new Lumibricks set has quietly popped up on Amazon UK: the Medieval Guard Post.
We don’t have an official press release for this one yet, but the listing gives us our first look at the next expansion to their growing Medieval Town collection.

The “Mystery” Piece Count
Here is where things get confusing. The Amazon listing currently states a massive 2,945 pieces.
If that number is accurate, this would be one of the largest sets in their entire medieval range and would rival the biggest modular buildings. However, looking at the images, the set depicts a relatively compact defensive wall, a gatehouse, and a small tower.
My take: Unless this model is incredibly dense, or perhaps includes a massive side build we can’t see in the main photo, I suspect this might be a listing error.
Visually, it looks closer to the 1,000–1,500 piece mark (similar to the Watchtower). If it really is nearly 3,000 pieces, then the scale is deceptive and we are in for a very detailed build. But for now, I would take that number with a pinch of salt until we get official confirmation.
First Impressions: A Scene Builder?
Piece count mystery aside, this looks to be a “scene builder” rather than the flagship castle many of us are waiting for.
It seems designed to connect with the existing Watchtower or sit alongside the Medieval Tavern to extend your town walls. It features a defensive rampart, a small gate, and what looks like a soldier’s quarters.
Personally, I am still waiting for a medieval set that really goes all-in on complexity and scale. I am talking about something closer to LEGO’s Lion Knights’ Castle. This Guard Post looks like a fun expansion, but it might not be the main event.
What we know so far
- Theme: Medieval / Castle Defense
- Piece Count: Listed as 2,945 (though this seems high for the visual size. Possible listing error?).
- Lighting: As always, we can expect fully integrated lighting (likely torches and warm interior LEDs).
- Compatibility: Designed to scale with the rest of their Medieval Village line.
I will be watching this listing closely to see if the specs are updated or if more images appear.
What do you think? Is that piece count a typo, or is there more to this set than meets the eye?
